Nnnnnice!

KitchenAid 12 Cup Glass Carafe Coffee

KitchenAid 12 Cup Glass Carafe Coffee

I have no idea what all this talk of "wetness" is about. I'm not having that problem. Had this coffee maker for a couple weeks now. Bold setting does take longer than a normal pot of drip coffee, but once you know what to expect, it's not a problem. I set it to brew automatically for my morning cuppa, anyway. For the past couple of years I used a French press exclusively because I like a strong, full-bodied coffee. My last drip coffee maker was a 12-cup Cuisinart with a thermal carafe but the carafe kept leaking so I stopped using it. I'm very pleasantly surprised with how good the coffee tastes from this KitchenAid maker considering I've never been the biggest fan of drip coffee, but enjoy the convenience and the ability to make a larger quantity of coffee more quickly compared to the press pot. I like the sleek design of this coffee maker and find it very easy to use and clean. I highly recommend.

  1. We bought this KitchenAid coffee maker to replace our beloved Cuisinart one that we'd had for about 4 years. I was hesitant to switch brands but we've always had good luck with KitchenAid and so far, this coffee maker doesn't disappoint. I really like the removable water reservoir for cleaning purposes. It's generally easy to set for morning brewing (though admittedly, it took me a few tries to get it right - I did find the Cuisinart easier to set initially). I like the "bold" brewing feature. And I like the blue lit display.

All in all - this has proven to be a reliable, attractive, and overall solid coffee maker that I would recommend to others.

  2. I am a coffee-aholic. I love coffee and this unit is the answer to a prayer.

    - It keeps the coffee hot without scorching it.

    - It brews quickly.

    - The bold brew is very nice.

    - I have no trouble with leaks from the carafe or the water tank.

My unit requires one touch on the control to 'wake' up the keypad, then you hold it in to do an auto brew, or press it in for a moment and it will brew immediately. I wonder if this isn't the trouble that others are having with the unit or if mine isn't an improved version.

The water filter is superfluous. Get a real filter and use that.

It will nag you to clean it. A lot.

If you love your coffee and own a burr grinder (and you should...) treat yourself to one of these and you won't be disappointed.

  4. I always had an eye for Kitchenaid products. When I stopped at Target and found Kitchenaid Carafe coffee makers I made no hesitation. I had to buy one. With an attractive price, one of the best features like brewing (in case no one notice, you can set bold and brew to make the coffee stronger), and a beautiful blue digital display this is totally the complete package. There is also a filter catridge included, which you don't find in many coffee makers and may be expensive if purchased separately. All in all, I was impressed and would recommend Kitchenaid Carafe Coffee Maker to anyone.

  5. Bought it the pot dripped all over the counter complained kitchinaid sent a new pot that worked fine. Eight months later the coffee maker program quit working the maker died called kitchen aid they sent a whole new coffee maker. The new coffee maker lasted only 12 weeks the program computer or whatever you call it quit again called kitchenaid and asked for a refund or an upgrade to a better pot. I have to admit the people at kitchenaid are very nice people they offered to send me the next step up coffee maker at no cost to me. I figure at this rate in a couple more years I will be into a commercial grade hope that last a little longer.

My advice on this maker KEEP A BACKUP !!!!!!!!

  6. I bought my new kitchenaid about a week ago to replace our cheap broken and barely working Mr Coffee maker. I have read the reviews and so are I have no real problems with it. I love that I can choose regular or bold tasting coffee and that I can make 1-4 or 10-12 cups. Another selling point was it reminds you when it needs to be cleaned and it easy to program. Some people were saying it leaks and yes it does when you lift the lid to the filter after brewing but I have found that if you leave the carafe in when you lift it drains the access water into the carafe making for easy clean up. I would strongly recommend this coffee maker even if you are not ready for a new one, it is well worth the money and then some.

  7. Not sure why the negative reviews. I love this coffee maker. It makes wonderful coffee (esp. with the "Bold" setting). It's relatively compact also--much shorter than the Cuisinart coffeemaker I'm replacing, even though it still makes 12 cups of coffee. I have a small kitchen, so that is definitely a plus for me. I have had no trouble with the removable water tank. It's a very handy feature, in fact. Also it's nice it has a water filter. I would definitely recommend this coffee maker.
