Why haven't I seen these before?

Lock Pitcher 8 5 cup

Lock Pitcher 8 5 cup

I have both the 8.5 cup (2 liter) and the and the 1 gallon version of these pitchers and I am very pleased with them both. The first thing I noticed when I got them was the hiss I heard when I first popped the top on them. That would mean that they are air tight, though that is not really a concern of mine. I just don't want the thing leaking on me. I was not disappointed. The top of the container snaps into place easily and is held firmly in place with latches on both sides. The pour spout cap, while easy to open and close, fits firmly into place when closed. OK, so after having been disappointed with many pitchers in the past, I was optimistic with my initial assessment of these new pitchers, but I was still a little wary of trusting any pitcher....so I decided to test it further.

I filled the 2 liter pitcher up with water and sealed the cap. I then held it over the sink and turned it completely upside down. I expected there to at least be some leaking around the edge of the lid, and fully expected the cap to be forced open under the stress, but there was not even a hint of a leak. I was impressed. Granted, you aren't going turn your pitchers upside down on a regular basis, but I have had pitchers that leaked just from simply tilting it when taking it out of the refrigerator, or when pouring. It's nice to know that the seal is secure and I won't have any major spillage if I accidentally knock it over. Since then I have felt confident enough to actually use it to shake up drinks that settle. I have to admit that I suspected that over time the cap on the pour spout would loosen and not be as secure, however, I just tried that experiment again a few minutes ago and it is still holding firm over 6 months later.

The smaller 8.5 cup (2 Liter) pitcher is a nice compact size that is easy to handle. The 1 gallon size is obviously larger and heavier. I highly recommend these pitchers.

  1. I had some older plastic pitchers that I was using for mixing formula. They were always leaking and I couldn't be sure if they were BPA free. I found these and ordered 2. These turned out to be fantastic for mixing my baby formula. It doesn't specify it on the web, but once the product is shipped to you there is a small green sticker on the product that tells you it is BPA Free. Also, they do not leak and are easy to pour from. I wash mine by hand instead of using the dishwasher. It only takes a minute to clean it in the sink and ensures that my dishwasher won't melt the container or the gasket on the lid. They are light weight so it makes it easy to shake the formula by hand. Also, I have upended the pitcher in my car when transporting and the formula did not leak out at all. It holds just over 64 oz (half gallon) so anybody looking for a pitcher for baby formula, juice, iced tea or any other beverage, this is it. Great Buy!

  2. Great pitcher. BPA free, no-spill spout, and nice handle. Also its shape fits in fridge well and top has snug fit but is easy to remove for refilling. I liked it so much I bought two more.

  4. This was a lightening deal and I bought it on a whim. I drink loads of powdered drink mix and at two quarts this was the perfect size.

Good: This thing locks tight and does not leak. I turn it upside down and shake the drink mix full of water and ice.

    Bad: NONE

Overall: I am going to purchase another one for work. It Rocks!!!!

  5. I bought this pitcher because I have 3 teenagers and they tend to spill things from time to time. I love this pitcher because the lid locks down and when tipped it doesn't spill. It fits great in the fridge and cupboards. I've washed it several times in the dishwasher and it comes out great. I even wash it on the bottom rack, there has been no warping or discoloration. It is great.

  6. This product holds up to its name, if the Pitcher turns over in your refrigerator you can bet nothing spills out; you can put all kinds of juice in it, its great, I'm gonna buy the bigger size.
