OXO Grips Salad Dressing Shaker
I love this salad shaker! I have always liked making my own dressings, but many of the cruets have such a narrow opening at the top that it's hard to clean. This one has a very pretty narrow opening at the top, but it unscrews in the middle making it easy to brush out. Since you can reach the narrow opening from both sides, it's also easy to keep clean. It has nice measurement markings on the side which speed things up. The top that flips open with your thumb is pretty and gives it some style. It also has a good feel to it, which I've come to expect with OXO products. We are currently doing the South Beach diet and make dressings nearly every day. So having one that is pretty, easy to mix in, and especially easy to clean is very important. This one fits all those needs perfectly.

BalasHapusI bought this in the hopes of making my own delicious salads at home, and it's working! The bottle stores nicely in the fridge; I can make enough dressing for a week. The marks on the side make measuring cups unnecessary. It is very convenient.
BalasHapusGreat salad dressing shaker. The large opening allows for easy pouring of all ingredients. The top of the shaker is tight, so there are no leaks when I shake the dressing. I also like the fact it's BPA free (important with acidic sauces).
BalasHapusI have looked high and low for a salad dressing jar that doesn't drip and it hasn't been easy. Besides not dripping down its sides, it's a good size so we don't have to make new dressing every day. Having the measuring guides on the side is also a plus. We are so delighted with this product that we ordered two more, one for our summer place and one just to have on hand. Even though the tip of it is a little hard to clean, hot water helps do the job and that one small hassle is worth it. Oxo comes through again with a well designed product.
BalasHapusI really wanted something that sealed tightly that I could shake my salad dressing in. That was pretty much the entirety of my requirements. I didn't care if it was glass or BPA-free plastic, I just wanted something that I could occasionally toss in the dishwasher if I didn't have time or energy to hand wash. The majority of them out there are so complicated with recipes on the outside or complicated designs. I even thought this one would be way more than what I needed but after using this for three months now, I can honestly say I couldn't be happier with this purchase.
BalasHapusIt seals very securely. I've never had anything leak through. It says it's dishwasher safe but I've only ever put the bottom cup part (without the green silicone/rubber seal which is located on the lid) in there. I'm not willing to risk the nice seal this thing has for the convenience of tossing it in the dishwasher. As such, I always hand wash and it's very quick and easy. The top spout part opens up just enough to be able to get part of the sponge in there or a tip of a finger for easy cleaning.
The pour spout is also extremely nice to have. You can control how much dressing comes out with the little green lever at the top which is super handy and the measurements on the side could be useful as well. I'm one of those people who just kinda wings it and pours in whatever looks good so I've never actually taken advantage of it but I can see how this could be a time saver in how you don't have an extra measuring cup to wash.
All in all, this is definitely recommended.
We have started making our own salad dressing because all of the low fat options aren't as tasty. This is a great as an all in one option. Measure, store and pour. All three options work great.

- Shaker top great for making sure the top stays closed while shaking up the dressing. All the seals are very tight, and I have not had any problems with leaking so far.
- The spout allows easy pouring without any mess or spillage.
Cons
- A bit too large (It's hard for to finish a whole bottle before I get tired of the dressing). Not really OXO's fault, so I can't justify lowering the rating.
I use this everyday. It's great for making my fat free dressings. It works perfectly. Much better than the mason jar I was using.
